BIC Group (meaning Société BIC and its affiliated companies and subsidiaries referred to herein as "BIC" or "We” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy when visiting our website, www.nextbicthing.com, (“Site”). The purpose of this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) is to inform you about the types of data we gather about you when you visit the Site, how we use that data, whether we disclose it to anyone, and the choices you have regarding our use of your data. If you would prefer your personal data is not used in the manner described in this policy, you should not use our Site.

The Site does not require personal information from visitors in order to gain access to any part of our Site. Site usage information and cookies, no personal information is automatically collected from visitors to the Site. Any other personal information you may provide will be on a voluntary basis.

You may at any time withdraw or change your consent to our use or disclosure of your personal information, or request that we delete it from BIC’s files, subject to legal and contractual restrictions. However, if you do not provide personal information required for us to supply you with a service offered on the Site, we may not be able to provide that service to you.

2. Use of personal information we collect from you

We may collect personal data you provide directly to us, such as when you apply to join the BIC R&D Squad  , when you contact us via the “Contact Us” section of our Site, or otherwise communicate with us. This personal data may include: title, name, surname, email, postal address, email, telephone number and any other information you choose to provide.

The information you provide to us to apply to be part of the BIC R&D Squadwill be used by BIC and/or an agency working on BIC’s behalf to process your application to join the the BIC R&D Squad, and/or send you information about your application.

The information you provide to us via the “Contact Us” page will be used by BIC and/or an agency working on BIC’s behalf to respond to your comments, questions or requests for information. Aside from replying to an e-mail sent by you, it is not our intention to contact you unless you request particular information. Although we will retain your contact information in our database, we will use it only to respond to your requests.

The personal data described above, as well as any other personal data you provide to us (for instance, the application to join the the BIC R&D Squad), will be processed only for the apparent purpose for which it was collected (your participation) and/or as communicated to you upon the collection of your personal data.

We may also use your personal data for other purposes which are disclosed to you and to which you consent, or for such other purposes as permitted or required by applicable law.

We may use Google Analytics or other third-party analytic tools to analyse user behaviour which allows us to measure consumer interest in the various areas of our Site for product and Site development purposes.  These third-party analytic tools tell us aggregate and collected information such as how the site was accessed and how long visitors stayed.  This information is used for our own internal purposes to improve the content of this Site, to enhance users’ experience when visiting our Site, and to customize the content and/or layout of our pages.  All information of user behaviour described herein will be recorded on a group basis, and such analysis may be shared with our Site development consultants.  This information is aggregated and not personally identifiable.  To learn more about Google Analytics and how it uses your data, please visit http://www.google.com/analytics/learn/privacy.html.

The Site may integrate third party platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter “like” and “share” function.  We can collect technical information using cookies and other technologies on our own behalf and through the use of third-party platforms, such as those named in this paragraph.  Technical information may include your IP address, browsing path, operating system, and other information.  When you interact with the third-party platforms, such as using the Facebook “like” or “share” feature, that platform may record your interaction with the Site.  The third-party platforms have their own privacy policies, which govern the use of any personal or non-personal information they collect. 

3. What is our legal basis for processing your personal data?

We will only process your personal data where we have a legal basis to do so. Depending on the purposes for which we are processing your personal data (as explained in section 2 above), the legal basis will be one of the following:

Personal data collected to apply to join the BIC R&D Squad made via our Site will typically be retained for the duration of the contract plus an additional period, which will be in line with the statutory limitation period in the applicable jurisdiction.

Where we have collected your personal data based on your consent and we have no other lawful basis to continue with the processing, you may at any time withdraw or change your consent to our use or disclosure of your personal data subject to legal restrictions. The revocation of your consent will be valid for the future and will not affect the legality of the processing that was done based on your initial consent.

The Site is primarily designed and intended for adults. Deletion Request Rights

You have the right to request that we delete any of your personal information that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we will delete (and direct our service providers to delete) your personal information from our records, unless an exception applies.

 

Exercising Access and Deletion Rights

To exercise the access and deletion rights described above, please submit a verifiable consumer request to us by either:

    • If you connected with us using the join the “BIC R&D Squad” feature on our website, fill out this webform.

Only you or a person registered with the California Secretary of State that you authorize to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. You may also make a verifiable consumer request on behalf of your minor child.

You may only make a verifiable consumer request for access or deletion twice within a 12-month period. The verifiable consumer request must:

  • Provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected personal information or an authorized representative.
  • Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.

We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you.  In order to verify your identity, we may request that you provide us with your name, address or email address. Making a verifiable consumer request does not require you to create an account with us.  We will only use personal information provided in a verifiable consumer request to verify the requestor's identity or authority to make the request.

 

Response Timing and Format

We endeavor to respond to a verifiable consumer request within 45 days of its receipt.  If we require more time (up to 90 days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing.  Any disclosures we provide will only cover the 12-month period preceding the verifiable consumer request's receipt.  The response we provide will also explain the reasons we cannot comply with a request, if applicable. 

 

Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. Unless permitted by the CCPA, we will not:

  • Deny you goods or services.
  • Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties.
